Outbreak: A Webquest about Epidemics

This webquest was written for biology students in the 9th to 12th grade. The initial idea came from the many questions I was receiving from students regarding anthrax and smallpox. Students would see these things in the news and were curious and somewhat afraid about what these diseases could do to us. I wrote the quest from a historical perspective, and many of the diseases listed in this quest (like leprosy and small pox) are not considered to be a threat to humans in modern times. The students can learn much from understanding the history of epidemics and how organizations, like the CDC work to ensure that these diseases no longer threaten the human population.
