Summertime

oldcamera

Summer moves very fast. Today, I went to the school to clean out the lab. The amount of junk that had been compiled and horded for years was staggering. I did find an amazing kodak camera that I was able to date to 1951. This was the kind of camera that you looked into the top glass like a viewfinder and saw a blurry image of what was in front of the camera. Very interesting, but also very useless in this day and age. I kept it though, part of my useless items shrine.

I’m sure I’ll be back before school starts, as I’m now teaching the anatomy classes that the former (now retired) department head taught. There are mountains of specimens, models and other elements stockpiled in his room that will need to be moved. I haven’t even touched that.

I still have not seen any data on my class lists or sizes. I’m used to this drill, I probably won’t know until the first day of school, and even then it’s not a sure thing as students are moved around and their schedules adjusted. As a 16 year veteran, this thought no longer panics me.
